Day 1 -Durango (6.090ft)

Arrival at Durango's airport,  where we will be expecting you,  transfer from airport to Hotel Casablanca right in the historic down town area with colonial buildings of more than 300 years of antiquity, possibility of an evening tour of the city,  register and dinner at hotel.

Day 2 -Durango

Early morning transfer from hotel to bird watching area 20 min Southeast of the city where we have the possibility of watching over 80 species of valley and migrating water birds. we have breakfast and lunch in the country,  come back to the hotel by 15:00hrs and after a freshen up, we take a movie set tour with cowboy show and have dinner in a colonial restaurant Las Chonas, (walking three blocks) back to the hotel for a good nights sleep.

Day 3 -Durango / Sierra Madre Occidental (8,900ft.)

Early in the morning we check out of the hotel and start on our trip, through the Sierra Madre along the Durango Mazatlan Highway, on the way we stop in our mountain bird watching area, where we might see the red warbler, red faced warbler, and painted redstart amongst others and spend our day. Early in the afternoon we check in at Mexiquillo mountain cabins, fresh trout dinner. These cabins are located 80 miles from Durango well into the Sierra Madre with spectacular views of the canyons, rock formations and a very beautiful waterfall.

Day 4 -Sierra Madre / La Cruz de Taxque (6,000ft)

Early in the morning we check out of the cabins, and continue our crossing of the Sierra Madre with spectacular mountain scenes and Canyon views,  on the way we stop at our second mountain bird watching area at El Palmito,  where with a little luck we can see the Tufted Jay, an endemic species and a possible other 70 species,  here, we eat breakfast and lunch, after which  we continue to La Cruz,  check in and dinner  at hotel Villa Vera , and on to sleep after a beautiful  day.

Day 5 -La Cruz de Taxque / Teacapan (200ft)

Early in the morning we continue to the Panuco watching area, with great surprises like Black throated magpie jay, Chacalacas, Trogons, Cuckoos, pale-billed woodpecker and a hundred other very interesting species, we have breakfast and lunch in the country. Early in the afternoon we continue on down to the coast, register dinner (sea food) hotel night.

Day 6 -Teacapan
Early in the morning, we go on bird watching boat tour of the Teacapan estuary, one of the biggest in Mexicofs Pacific coastline at least a 100 possible species,  eat breakfast and lunch in our outing back to the hotel in the afternoon, great day dinner hotel night.

 

Day 7 -Mazatlán / home

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flights back home end of tour.

6 Hotel nights, 5 bird watching outings on land, 1 bird watching outing on a boat, 1 city tour, 1 western movie set tour (Durango),

7 Breakfasts, 6 Box Lunches, 6 Dinners,1 Specialist Guide,
