Day 1 -Mazatlán / La Paz

Reunite at the Ferries departure port early in the morning to finally board around 2 p.m. Pacific time. We will be traveling in tourism class, four people to a cabin. You pay for your own meals. This is a very interesting voyage that will immediately throw us into our adventure.

Arrive at t he port around 08:00am disembark and breakfast in La Paz. Continue on to Lopez Mateos lunch on the way, and with luck we will go on our whale watching tour that same afternoon. This is a small fishing village and we will camp on the beach, so we might even hear the whales snore. Up till now you have been paying for all your meals. But the whale watching trip is included in the tour.

After breakfast we will try to see the whales again and after lunch continue to La Purisima an 1719 Jesuit Mission more less by lunch time, there we will pedal a bit and prepare for tomorrow camping night.

After breakfast we begin pedaling through a storybook countryside , the oasis and its wonderful palm trees contrasting with the Cardones, toretes and pitahyas of the desert hills dressed in colorful rocks. Just one uphill worth mentioning in this 50 km ride across a desert from the times of the dinosaurs. Lunch on the way, dinner and camping in the beautiful oasis of Comondu.

After breakfast, we start going up to get out of the Canyon at the oasis, again the scenery has no comparison and the pedaling gets intense with some ascents worth considering, lunch on the way. Its 55 km. might be hard, we will use our support vehicle if we need to in order to get to the San Francisco Javier Mission. Dinner Camping night.

Again after breakfast start pedaling going up a bit, and then f inding a riverbed we can follow to get into Loreto. 34 km., Arriving early in the afternoon and maybe have a swim or so, dinner and camping on the beach.

Early in the morning leave for La Paz arriving at noon, free afternoon camping in a trailerpark, big disco night.

Nice peaceful free morning after lunch embark on the Ferry for Mazatlan, again it is tourism class, and a beautiful night in the sea.

Early arrival disembark transfer to the bus and plane terminals those who leave from here, the rest of us continue to Durango end of tour.
